Description

NGC 1365 is a barred spiral galaxy in the Fornax cluster about 52 Million Light Years away and a diameter of about 205 000 light-years.

It has an Apparent magnitude of 10.3 and an Apparent size of 11.2 × 6′.2 arc minutes.

It contains a central supermassive black hole in the active nucleus, which has a mass of about 2 million solar masses, and rotates at close to the speed of light!

This field is offset to include parts of Markarian's Chain.

On behalf of all Astro-imagers everywhere may I place a curse on the pox that is Daylight Saving (and Star Link Satellites ... haven't they heard of Vanta Black?)

With a blazing moon but outstanding seeing and a smallish window to image before sleep deprivation kicked in, RGB was definitely out.
I took a punt on Bi-Color Narrow Band in HA and OIII for the very first time. SII is mostly a waste of time, certainly on this type of field, and with more time I would have gone all night on 10 minute subs. And certainly more aperture wouldn't hurt, and also I know this is a great widefield in RGB , but you do what you can with what you got at the time.
